SeeItOnYou for BigCommerce — Installation Guide

Install SeeItOnYou on your BigCommerce store, connect your dashboard, enable try-on on apparel products, and go live on your storefront.

Quick facts

Time: about 10–15 minutes. What you need: a BigCommerce store with clothing products that have images, and access to install apps.

Before you start

Set yourself up for a clean install

  • Use products with clear clothing images (front-facing apparel works best).
  • Try-on appears on your live storefront product pages, not inside BigCommerce Control Panel preview.
  • Billing and settings live in the SeeItOnYou dashboard at app.seeitonyou.com — not inside an embedded BigCommerce admin panel.
Installation

Step-by-step setup

1

Install the app

Open the BigCommerce App Marketplace and find SeeItOnYou. Click Install and approve the requested permissions, then complete the OAuth install flow.

SeeItOnYou needs access to products and storefront content so it can sync your catalog and add the try-on button.

2

Launch the SeeItOnYou dashboard

In BigCommerce Control Panel, open Apps → SeeItOnYou. You’ll see a launch screen inside BigCommerce admin. Click Launch App.

This opens the full SeeItOnYou dashboard in a new browser tab and signs you in with your BigCommerce store connection. If you’re linking for the first time, follow the prompts to connect the store to your SeeItOnYou account.

3

Confirm the storefront script

In the SeeItOnYou dashboard, go to Settings → Storefront script. Click Install storefront script (or confirm it already shows as installed).

This adds the “See It On You” button to eligible product pages on your live storefront.

4

Sync your products

Go to Dashboard → Products and click Sync to pull products from BigCommerce. Wait for the sync to finish.

After sync, you’ll see your catalog in SeeItOnYou and can control which items support try-on.

5

Enable try-on on products

Open a clothing product in Dashboard → Products, turn Try-on on, and confirm the product image looks correct for try-on. Repeat for the products you want shoppers to preview.

Tip: Start with a few hero SKUs, test them live, then enable more.

6

Customize the button (optional)

Go to Dashboard → Settings. Adjust button text, placement, and styling to match your storefront, then save your changes.

7

Choose a plan (if needed)

Go to Dashboard → Billing. Start with the free trial credits, or choose Starter, Growth, or Pro. Complete checkout in the dashboard (Stripe).

Subscriptions are managed in SeeItOnYou — not through BigCommerce Unified Billing.

8

Test on your live storefront

Open a live product page on your storefront (the public site URL). Confirm the See It On You button appears, click it, upload a photo, and generate a try-on preview.

If the button is missing, re-check Step 3 (storefront script) and that try-on is enabled for that product.

Troubleshooting

Common install issues

I don’t see Launch App

Reopen the app from BigCommerce Control Panel → Apps. Make sure install completed and permissions were approved.

Dashboard opened but store isn’t linked

Use the connect prompt, or go to the dashboard to connect BigCommerce and finish linking.

No try-on button on the product page

Confirm the storefront script is installed, try-on is enabled for that product, and you’re testing on the live storefront URL (not admin preview). Then hard-refresh the page.

Try-on starts but fails or has no credits

Check Dashboard → Billing for remaining credits and subscription status.

Products look out of date

Run a manual sync from Dashboard → Products. Edit the product in BigCommerce and confirm webhooks update it.

Shopper photos & data

Shoppers may upload a photo to generate a try-on preview. Photos are processed by SeeItOnYou to create the visualization.
